About this composition:

"Servicio a Domicilio"

Instrumentation: piano, computer (PC) and a Yamaha SY77 synthesizer.

"Servicio a Domicilio" was composed in 1991 and was premiered the same year at the Festival Internacional Cervantino. The piece establishes a dialog between piano and computer using certain basic ideas about motivic structure.

The compositional structure is based on "nondeterministic automatons controlled by rule", wherein each state of an automaton contains a set of rules that generates different musical ideas. Transitions between the states are determined by the previous state at the automaton. The software was written by the composer in Prolog, running on a PC. The instrumentation is for piano, computer and Yamaha SY77 FM synthesizer.
