[En español...] This piece ("That medal burns my chest") is dedicated to the struggled waged by the people of Puerto Rico to get the United States Marine (Navy) off the municipal island of Vieques.

For 60 years this island has been subjected to all kinds of bombing and war manœuvres, confining its inhabitants to a strip of land and exposing them to considerable pollution.

Following the accidental death of a civilian, the people of Vieques and of Puerto Rico decided to stand up and challenge the military body by invading all of its restricted areas and obstructing its manœuvres. Hundreds of people were put in jail during this episode of peaceful civil disobedience.

The title comes from a Vietnam War veteran who, full of indignation over this violation, handed back his medal, saying "That medal burns my chest..."
