In his New Work, which marks the 30th anniversary of La La La Human Steps, Edouard Lock offers a contemporary analysis of two tragic love stories, inspired by two baroque operas, Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, and Orpheus and Eurydice by Gluck.
Edouard Lock puts the art of ballet in the service of a precise gesture and feverish, carried by 11 dances and the ballerina Diana Vishneva, La La La Human Steps guest star. The music, composed in turn by Gavin Bryars and Blake Hargreaves, is performed live by a quartet (piano, violin, cello and saxophone), and evokes the familiar tunes from operas by Purcell and Gluck.
