This series is a collection of published documents, manuscripts and photocopies of texts that Steina and Woody Vasulka have assembled over their career. Overall, this material addresses the evolution of practices in electronic art since the sixties and illustrates the emergence of video as an artistic medium during this period. The series includes the directories of organizations, many issues of periodicals, and publications on festivals and recurring exhibitions that showcase the development of a network of events devoted to video practices. The series also contains many monographic works of leading figures in video art in the seventies and eighties and essays by major theorists who tried defining the specificity of this medium. Some published manuscripts and documents are by authors and friends Steina and Woody Vasulka regularly collaborated with.
