Semi-Structured Interview with Alexander (audio excerpt):
Alexander is a young software developer who knows a great deal about computers. He is interested in art and visits museums two or three times a year. He is surprised at first that there is nothing "visual" in the installation. He quickly realises that the sounds in the space react to him. He is alone in the space and experiments extensively with his movements. He enjoys the artwork a great deal, particularly the way it responds to him. He says that being part of the installation gives him "a sort of joy." He describes his relationship to the work as one of influence rather than control.
